A new look and a much needed update!

Hello everyone! It has been a year since the last blog post and a lot has happened since. Some of my arrangements have received some performances; My brass dectet arrangement of Holst's 'A Moorside Suite' featured in a concert of English Brass Music performed by the brass section of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Michael Seal. It was surreal to hear one of my arrangements performed at such a high level, especially one where only one movement had been rehearsed when i was studying at Conservatoire.

My arrangement of the Schumann Adagio and Allegro for solo bass trombone was selected as the set piece for the final of the biannual British Trombone Society Bob Hughes Bass Trombone Competition. Sadly by November, the competition was reduced to recorded submissions due to the Covid regulations and the increasing number of cases. However, I extend my heartiest congratulations to the winner Alan Adams and runners up Josh Cargill and Jan Kruijsse and a huge thank you to everyone who gave the arrangement a bash! I hope you enjoyed it! Secondly, owing to the Coronavirus lockdowns over the Christmas period and the silencing of performances. I have used the time to update the website and organise it in a newer and hopefully simpler way! Instead of there being one Product Page, I have now sorted everything by instrumentation and ensemble size. This should hopefully make everything easier to find, but please do get in touch if you are struggling to find something. New arrangements include ensemble arrangements and some new solo arrangements including a new version of the Schumann Adagio and Allegro written in collaboration with Helen Vollam of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and a new and first solo Contrabass Trombone solo arrangement. To purchase arrangements, please contact me at pilbopublications@gmail.com and we can discuss purchases or acquiring samples for you to try and view before you buy. Please do have a look at the 'new' website and let me know what you think! I will be adding some new arrangements in the coning days and weeks and hopefully we can return to frequent music playing very soon! Apologies for the long post! All the best wishes, Tom Pilsbury
